A Pennsylvania born, Kolber received her graduate diploma from her alma mater, the University of Miami. Her professional career began as an Assistant Video Coordinator for CBS Sports, New York City. She won an Sports Emmy while working at WTVJ-TV Miami. In addition, she was reporter for WPLG-TV Miami, and WPEC-TV West Palm Beach. She began working for ESPN in 1993 and was one of the anchors on ESPN2 that was launched. She worked for ESPN2 for three years and later left to join Fox Sports.
